The Opportunity

The Talent Advisor (Mid-level) will lead the design, evolution, and overall effectiveness of leadership development experiences that strengthen leader capability and improve organizational performance across USAA. This role serves as the primary owner of the Leading at USAA and Leading Others programs, partnering with business leaders, HR partners, facilitators, and external vendors to assess leadership development needs and implement impactful learning solutions. Through instructional design, performance consulting, organizational development, and program management practices, this position ensures leadership experiences remain relevant, scalable, aligned to business priorities, and effective in helping leaders successfully transition into and excel in people leadership roles. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in San Antonio, TX . Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do

Consults with business leaders to develop and implement talent programs and solutions to address key business needs and strategies. Participates and provides feedback on talent projects from strategy to implementation. Leverages data and insights to support talent practices and talent deliverables. Delivers programs for specific employee populations, such as military-affiliated talent, high potential talent, and any other key segments as well as critical skills for the future of the workforce. Uses data analytics to inform leadership development talent strategies. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have: Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience. 4+ years of experience in talent program and process development and implementation with a focus on talent development (e.g. coaching, mentoring, rotations, leadership development, talent pipeline planning, learning, skills management). Knowledge of various talent management technology solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with senior executives. Uses technology, AI, and/or automation to work efficiently. Demonstrates a structured approach to problem solving while balancing competing priorities. What sets you apart: Military service, military spouse/domestic partner experience, or demonstrated military acumen through work supporting military-connected populations. Experience in instructional design, organizational development, leadership development, or performance consulting, including assessing needs and designing solutions that improve leader and team effectiveness. Experience leading people directly or developing people leaders through coaching, facilitation, talent development, or leadership programs. Experience designing, implementing, and sustaining leadership development programs in partnership with business leaders, facilitators, and external learning vendors. Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $147,390.
