 LM Space is seeking a Chief Engineer to join the PLSSS program in Cape Canaveral, FL! The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M. This position ensures the delivery of services that maintain launch integration equipment, processes and systems at multiple launch bases. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of process development and execution as well as acting as the primary technical point of contact with our Government customer. This person will also be capable of defining future systems, integration and service delivery approaches to shape and drive new business growth in our Ground and Launch portfolio.Responsibilities will include: • Delivering end to end mission services delivery while managing the technical process baseline and serving as chair of internal review boards. • Participation in the program’s Risk and Opportunity Management Board (ROMB). • Leads creation of new service approaches based on changing launch requirements and new emerging technology-driven capabilities. • Continuously assess the quality and consistency of the program’s service delivery; including root cause analysis when issues arise and executing formal process improvement efforts. • Support execution and new business across the NSS/SOA mission segment through shared collaboration, innovation concepts and support to other programs/efforts as requested • Establishes senior technical program business rhythms (e.g., daily ops status, monthly status brief, quarterly risk review) and ensures engineering best practices and standards are applied • Acts as the primary technical point of contact for reporting technical status of the program to customers and internal to Lockheed Martin Space, including Enhanced Program Reporting System (EPRS) coordination • Identify and implement cost, schedule, and/or quality improvement initiatives especially as they are enabled by new digital capabilities being fielded by the enterprise • The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of engineering personnel, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills. • During program execution, management and timely resolution of the program top technical issues to include assembling the teams, providing technical guidance, engaging the enterprise, and communicating with the customers.   Standard Job Description: Accountable for all aspects of engineering and technology activities within a program, program area, or line of business to ensure mission milestones and business objectives are met. Serves as the primary technical authority / technical interface with internal program management and external customers. Ensures proposals have sound technical solutions and schedules and drive affordability. Leads a technical team of cross functional engineers to ensure successful proper system/product development and execution. Evaluates and ensures complex issues are resolved in a cost effective, innovative way. Champion mission success and drive a mission success culture. Directs a team into exploration of new problem solution areas with novel concepts and approaches, guiding scope definition and prioritizing problems for investigation. Determine appropriate risk posture and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects.  Basic Qualifications 
 • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline • Understanding of mission operational interdependencies in the launch domain (e.g. Space Vehicle processing, launch site infrastructure, interactions between agencies) • Experience in formal process improvement, particularly analyzing systems and
