Job Description
Primary Function : Process shipping documents for customer orders and reconciling Bills of Ladings, schedule inbound and outbound shipments. Perform inventory functions monthly. Coordinate issues on orders with customer services. Assure accuracy on orders processed for shipment through verification. Essential Functions : Takes reasonable care for their own health and safety. Authorized to stop work when a perceived unsafe condition or behavior may result in an unwanted event Understands and actively participates in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives Follow all Company policies and procedures Assist the Warehouse Manager as needed Generate bill of lading for all outbound freight Receive incoming freight including stock transfers Receive packaging Process billing Process export documents Audit freight invoices and reconcile with outside audit service Participates in monthly inventories for warehouse Safety Commitment : Takes reasonable care for their own health and safety. Takes reasonable care for the health and safety of others. Authorized to stop work when a perceived unsafe condition or behavior may result in an unwanted event Understands and actively participates in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives Work Environment: This position requires that the employee be able to work in a busy office environment Essential Physical Requirements: Walking for as much as 25% of workday Sitting to prepare reports and use computer equipment for up to 100% of workday Standing for as much as 25% of workday Kneeling, stooping, crouching or crawling for as much as 10% of workday Bending, twisting, reaching and leaning for as much as 75% of workday Talking to communicate with others for as much as 100% of workday Hearing to communicate with others for as much as 100% of workday Using arms to grasp, handle and type for as much as 75% of workday Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Experience
6 months of related experience preferred Special Skills: Ability to understand shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, customs paperwork, inventory control and customers’ special instructions Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and order forms and checklists Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, surfaces and volume Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
