Standard Job Description 
 Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.  This is a second shift position working 2pm to 12am midnight Tuesday through Friday. Basic Qualifications 
 Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering or other related technical field. Must be a US citizen or able to work in the US. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Active Secret Clearance. Desired Skills 
 • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Familiarity with one or more of the following techniques: surface preparation and bonding, mixing and application of adhesives, sealants, and sprayed materials, interpreting NDI (non-destructive inspection) data, interpreting mechanical test data (lap shear, flatwise tensile, etc.), autoclave cure cycle evaluation, organic coating evaluation such as thickness or adhesion testing. • Familiarity with Environmental, Safety and Health requirements. Knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets). • Familiarity with Serviceflo. Familiarity with Depot operations. Experience using hand tools (orbital sander, micrometer, hardness testing). • Specification, engineering test plan, or other technical writing experience. • Low Observables Materials familiarity desired. • Experience with using or executing material evaluations with modern lab evaluation hardware including but not limited to: DSC, DMA, various forms of Spectroscopy, environmental/physical/mechanical test equipment. • Applicant should be able to support customer and supplier interactions. • Familiarity with procurement processes and practices. • Experience with Root Cause Analysis • Experience in production environment Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
