Position
Summary The Manager Manufacturing Test Engineering is responsible: 1) Manage a team of engineers responsible for supporting outsourced manufacturing and test deployment. 2) Oversee development and transfer of test plans to CM sites, ensuring consistent implementation and technician training. 3) Collaborate with NPI, product design, and supplier quality teams to support product launches and resolve manufacturing test issues. 4) Monitor test yield performance and drive improvements in collaboration with manufacturing partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Advanced understanding of business lines and a growing understanding of the company overall and the competitive environment. Awareness that erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may have short-term impact. Ability to explain Manufacturing Test Engineering concepts to a non-technical audience. Plan and schedule the work of engineers that report to you. Works with principal engineers to guide development of test plans that will enhance quality assurance, reduce test costs, and optimize test infrastructure. Drive improvement of internally developed and utilized software tools that monitor factory test operations. Drive adoption of AI into factory trouble shooting tools and predictive anomaly detectors. Maintain a partnership with the Technical Services team to maintain and repair test networking infrastructure. Coordinate with TS on scheduled maintenance and unscheduled escalations and support new features. Create goals for team members to support F5’s business objectives and broaden your team member’s experience. Schedule the group and coordinate with the larger team and our Contract Manufacturers. Participate in hiring, mentoring, and onboarding process. Conduct presentations internally and externally. Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expert Knowledge and experience with automated HW test technologies. Experience leading complex product test initiatives from concept through release. Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications. Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment. Duties performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Able to travel to contract manufacturing facilities. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 2 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
