Senior Manager Engineering

OVERVIEW: Automotive seating structures senior manager:  Automotive seating structure product technical expert. Supervises & leads a group of 3-5 engineers. Leads technical problem solving. Supports manufacturing production issue resolution. Leads product safety technical risk assessment. Oversees & checks technical project execution. Communicates technical status and resolution plans internally & externally.

Leads the team of product & resident engineers (Plymouth, Pune, manufacturing locations): Represents the structures engineering team. Facilitates communication in internal & customer reviews. Guides & reviews technical issue summary documentation. Leads critical issue containment & problem-solving activity. Escalates critical issues. Communicates directly with manufacturing locations, Adient structural analysis engineers, Adient product safety, Adient engineering leadership, Adient business units, and OEM customer engineers. Supervises the team: Facilitates team engagement. Provides performance feedback. Flexes and leverages available resources. Provides mentorship & development opportunities. Implements company & department initiatives. Responsible for the team’s technical work product: Guides issue containment & resolution. Guides issue prevention and deliverable completion. Identifies and documents lessons learned. Approves drawings. Approves engineering deliverables. Collaborates Works with manufacturing to enable efficient mass production. Works with business unit engineering leaders to ensure team focus & collaboration. Engages organizational experts for specialized expertise. Checks Product engineering integrity: Possesses strong engineering analysis skills and ability to apply to product engineering. Product manufacturing feasibility based on manufacturing knowledge of:  Component manufacturing; Stamping, tube bending, wire forming Assembly processes; welding (laser, GMAW, projection), bolting, rivet forming, general assembly.
