THE ROLE
We are looking for a Fellow to join AMD’s ROCm GPU libraries team to enhance AMD’s future offerings for AI and HPC workloads. You will lead vision, architecture and design of GPU libraries for AI and HPC. You will mentor top-tier talent and drive high-priority strategic initiatives. THE PERSON: You are an experienced technical leader that is well versed in state-of-the-art technologies employed in optimizing AI/ML and HPC workloads for GPUs. You are passionate about solving problems to scale performance to meet the demands of future workloads.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership : Set the technical vision and roadmap for AI and HPC performance libraries. Provide deep technical leadership for library teams, and Provide deep technical leadership and guidance for GPU libraries, define the technical vision and direction for HPC. Performance Engineering : Lead profiling and bottleneck analysis of key workloads and work with hardware and software teams to deliver maximum performance on current hardware. Customer Engagement : Engage with customers and industry partners to understand their workload requirements and architect high performance solutions for their problems. Hardware-Software Co-design : Collaborate across hardware and software architecture teams to explain current hardware and software limitations, influence future silicon and software features, and lead the adoption of those features in GPU libraries. Mentor engineers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Help develop the next generation of leaders through coaching, training, and feedback.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Deep expertise with parallel computing, scientific computing, and GPU software development and performance optimization Deep experience with system software development in C/C++, and GPU software development and parallel programing Advanced knowledge of GPU microarchitecture and programming models Analytical and performance analysis skills Effective communication and problem-solving skills Proven history of GPU software thought leadership, backed with patents, publications, and participation in industry standards bodies ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: PhD or MSc Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields Advanced degrees, such as Master’s or Ph.
