THE JOB: As an   on-call   Food & Beverage Steward at  The Cosmopolitan ,   you’ll   play a key role in keeping our kitchens running smoothly by   maintaining   a clean, organized, and safe work environment. In this fast-paced position,   you’ll   support culinary teams by washing and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and work areas, handling waste and inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Your attention to detail and teamwork will help deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.   THE STARTING RATE:  $21.1467 hourly THE DAY-TO-DAY: Perform dishwashing and sanitation duties by collecting, breaking down, spraying, loading, and unloading dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using a three (3)-compartment sink or dish/pot machines, and returning items to proper storage locations; maintain appropriate chemical levels in all dishwashing and dispensing equipment  Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and stewarding areas by cleaning surfaces (baseboards, drains, sinks, tables, cutting boards), sweeping and mopping floors, washing mats, and cleaning equipment such as dish machines, ice machines, prep tables, hot boxes, and refrigerators  Handle operational support tasks including removing trash and garbage (and assisting with biohazard cleanup when required), maintaining linen inventory, polishing equipment, and transporting items such as hot/cold boxes, speed racks, and carts throughout the property  Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., SNHD, OSHA, Fire Department), complete required training, safely operate equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, forklifts, power washers), and report any equipment issues to a supervisor  THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Must be 18 years of age or older  6+ months of prior relevant experience in stewarding or a similar role, or completion of a Culinary Training Academy certification preferred  Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler’s Card upon hire  Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms  THE PERKS & BENEFITS: Wellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentally  Access to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and more  Free meals in our employee dining room  Free parking on and off shift  Health & Income Protection benefits (for eligible employees)  Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the community  VIEW JOB DESCRIPTION: https://mgmresorts.marketpayjobs.com/ShowJob.aspx?EntityID=2&jobcode=11479 Are you ready to JOIN THE SHOW ?
