Position
Summary: The Lead Career Development Specialist leads the planning, execution, digitization, and sustainment of Career Development Framework (CDF) projects and resources. This position also helps manage the enterprise skills framework, including governance, digitization, adoption, and ongoing maintenance. This role collaborates across the enterprise to establish and maintain a strong CDF foundation by ensuring skills, competencies, proficiency expectations, and career levels are clearly defined, business-aligned, and embedded in talent processes and systems. Building on the CDF, this role helps introduce scalable tools, resources, and repeatable practices that equip employees and leaders to have meaningful career conversations, support development planning, and help employees Drive their Career.
Key Responsibilities
Plans and manages multiple Career Development Framework (CDF) projects in collaboration with the Compensation team, Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), business leaders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and internal stakeholders to maintain and evolve the framework. Creates, applies, and continuously improves a systematic process, enabled by technology, to identify, sustain, and evolve essential skills, competencies, and expected levels of proficiency by job family and career level, ensuring alignment with business strategy, jobs, and future capability needs. Collaborates with HR and Digital to ensure CDF is digitized in Workday and integrated, where appropriate, across talent processes, Workday tools, and relevant systems. Collaborates with internal stakeholders in Talent Management, HR and Digital to translate skills data, aligned to the CDF and workforce planning, into actionable and usable insights for development and talent planning. Supports implementation of skills assessment and other development-focused capabilities in Workday and Career Hub. Partners with HR and internal communications team to create and execute communications and change readiness plans to build awareness, engagement, and adoption of career development tools (CDF, Career Hub, etc.), skills data, and resources at all levels of the organization, leveraging the Driving Your Career theme and the interconnectivity of talent processes. Co-creates, launches, and sustains, in collaboration with others in the Talent Management Center of Excellence (COE), a strategy to educate stakeholders about career management tools, best practice resources, repeatable skills processes, skills data usage, and learning programs to build on the CDF foundation and strengthen capabilities around career conversations, employee development, and development planning. Supports the integration of the CDF and skills data into other people practices and processes, including annual skills assessment, talent inventory, workforce planning, succession planning, learning & development, performance management, and talent acquisition, to enable a holistic approach to career development and actionable talent insights. Builds and maintains collaborative and productive working relationships throughout the HR community and across the enterprise with stakeholders who share responsibility for career development and participate in skills governance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required. Majors in Human Resources, Applied Training/Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related fields are preferred. Six (6) years of relevant work experience required.
