Chemical Operator- Chlorine D Shift

Open to Current Olin Employees Only Title: Chemical Operator- Chlorine D shift Location: Charleston, TN Salary: $46.16/hr Schedule: Rotating Schedule Focus: Olin Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, has an opening for a Chemical Operator located in Charleston, TN . This position ensures a safe and reliable operation of a complex/heavily regulated chemical production plant by following operating disciplines, procedures, and work processes in a team environment. This role will be for the chlorine area in the Compressor Building. Essential Functions: Monitor and control chemical process conditions, equipment, and control systems; manage product samples and analysis, specifically in the chlorine system. Support the chlorine area using mechanical and overhead equipment, along with operating industrial powered trucks Cross-train and certify in the chlorine and utility areas of the Compressor Building. Load/unload product, monitor tank levels and flow rates, and operate mechanical equipment Perform operational tasks including field checks, equipment prep, permitting, minor maintenance, and general area housekeeping. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues and support maintenance, start-ups, and shutdowns for operational reliability and efficiency. Conduct inspections per Olin standards and regulatory compliance (safety, DOT, quality), and prioritize safety and environmental stewardship, report near misses/incidents, assist in root cause investigations and perform Immediate Response activities. Errors may result in severe consequences due to hazardous materials and complex equipment.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; in Process Technology, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical or Computer Technology preferred Minimum of three years of work experience (36 months of full-time work at time of application) Possess a valid U.S. Driver's license Prior Olin experience in a related position Effective communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate instructions and information effectively via radio. Must meet the physical requirements, including, but not limited to, climbing stairs and ladders. Must be able to work rotating shifts. Must be able to digest and disseminate written information and make numerical calculations sufficiently well to perform assigned general and specific duties and responsibilities. Must have basic computer skills, Microsoft Office experience preferred. SAP experience preferred.
