Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Senior System Engineer interested in leading requirements and specification efforts. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the naval undersea and naval surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. You will support the development, verification, and validation of system requirements by ensuring they are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned with program objectives. In this role, you will create and maintain requirements throughout the system lifecycle, review technical work products for accuracy and compliance, and collaborate with engineering teams to capture inputs and translate them into actionable requirements. You will also contribute to improving requirements‑related processes, standards, and tools to enhance overall system quality and consistency What You Will Do Support the definition, management, and validation of system requirements across the full engineering lifecycle. Review technical work products to confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established requirements and standards. Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes, procedures, and methodologies related to requirements and system performance. Assist in aligning system architecture, integration, verification, and deployment activities with project objectives and traceable requirements. Collaborate across disciplines to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and maintain traceability configuration and requirements. Support the review of technical deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards. Demonstrate the ability to identify potential technical or programmatic obstacles, work with stakeholders to negotiate needed changes, and help drive alignment to resolve issues. Assist in evaluating engineering strategies, operational approaches, and program documentation to help ensure alignment with project goals and efficient use of resources. Travel domestically, up to 15%, to support customer meetings and technical events.
