Job Summary: Join PayPal’s Sales Technologies team as a Senior Software Engineer supporting solutions that enable sales and servicing functions. You’ll design and develop scalable backend services, microservices, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and modern cloud technologies. Working with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, and engineering partners, you’ll help deliver reliable, high-performing applications and production releases. You’ll also use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to accelerate design, development, testing, test-data setup, and engineering automation. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles. Advises immediate management on project-level issues Guides junior engineers Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications : 7+ years of software development experience preferred, including significant hands-on experience developing enterprise Java applications, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, Maven, and open-source Java libraries..
