About this role
Summary
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Custody Asset Services is an executive leadership position accountable for the end-to-end strategic oversight, operational governance, and precise execution of complex voluntary corporate event processing across North American (NAM) markets. This role requires authoritative domain expertise in voluntary event lifecycles—including tender offers, exchange offers, rights subscriptions, consent solicitations, conversions, and optional dividends—alongside disciplined risk management. The SVP provides executive direction to the regional functional unit, steering election capture, critical market cutoff administration, position verification, entitlement validation, record balancing, and payment facilitation. Acting as the senior operational leader, the SVP represents NAM Asset Services across strategic forums, champions regulatory compliance, mitigates high-stakes operational and liability risks, and drives the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and intelligent automation to advance operational efficiency. The ideal leader cultivates trusted partnerships with Product, Technology, Client Executives, and senior market stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Deliver strategic direction and operational oversight to teams managing the end-to-end lifecycle of voluntary corporate action events across NAM, ensuring strong governance over multi-asset position validation, election capture, and entitlement distribution. Lead the evaluation and operational deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, streamlining front-to-back processing, eliminating operational friction, and advancing digital capability across the unit. Establish, monitor, and enforce disciplined control frameworks to ensure timely, error-free execution of client instructions, actively mitigating high-liability operational risks associated with voluntary corporate action events. Oversee record balancing, election transmission, asset segregation, and disbursement facilitation across all voluntary corporate actions, ensuring compliance with US/NAM market standards, custody regulations, and internal control policies. Establish benchmarks for operational excellence, directing teams in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of sophisticated, time-sensitive inquiries from internal and external clients. Direct comprehensive diagnostic reviews of operational and systemic workflows to eliminate processing bottlenecks across the NAM custody chain, championing scalable technology integration and Straight-Through Processing (STP) enhancements. Provide executive mentorship and strategic coaching to managers and operational specialists, fostering a forward-looking culture grounded in technical precision, continuous improvement, digital fluency, and leadership development. Chair incident reviews and transparently communicate complex control deficiencies, near-misses, and risk metrics to senior leadership, audit committees, and regulatory authorities with actionable remediation plans. Represent NAM Asset Services as a key stakeholder in broader strategic programs, collaborating with Product, Technology, and Global Operations to advocate for regional priorities, implement AI-driven tooling, drive workflow efficiency, and elevate the client experience.
