Job Description
This is a management role within Global Operations & Investor Services (GOIS), specifically within Derivative Operations, a global team of 30+ professionals based across India, the UK and the US. The successful candidate will be accountable for leading the India-based Derivative Operations capability, providing strong people leadership, operational oversight, product expertise and senior escalation across day-to-day middle office and trade support activities. The role requires close partnership with Front Office, Compliance, Technology, Legal, Risk and external counterparties across the full derivative product lifecycle, with a clear focus on control, resilience, stakeholder confidence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership, Middle Office and Trade Support Provide senior oversight of the end-to-end derivative trade lifecycle, from execution and confirmation through clearing, settlement, valuation, lifecycle events and termination. Ensure robust operating standards across trade capture, exception management, lifecycle event processing, collateral and margin activities. Oversee reconciliations with counterparties, clearers, fund accountants, custodians and internal platforms, ensuring timely resolution of breaks and escalation of material issues. Drive disciplined exception management, prioritisation and issue resolution across supported products. Maintain and continuously strengthen the operational control framework, ensuring processes remain scalable, well-governed and aligned to business, regulatory and risk expectations. Identify, assess and mitigate operational, settlement, valuation, collateral, liquidity and counterparty risks through proactive monitoring, escalation and remediation. Lead root cause analysis for incidents, control events and recurring exceptions, ensuring sustainable remediation, lessons learned and appropriate senior stakeholder communication. Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory obligations, internal policies, service standards and governance requirements across all supported activities. People Management and Strategic Leadership Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing team of middle office and trade support professionals, building capability, accountability and operational depth across the India-based function. Translate business priorities into clear team objectives, delivery plans and individual goals, ensuring the team remains responsive to evolving product, client, regulatory and operating model requirements. Manage performance, talent development and succession planning through regular coaching, feedback, objective setting and career development plans. Foster an inclusive, collaborative and delivery-focused culture centred on operational excellence, ownership, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and strong risk awareness.
