Senior Software Engineer in Test The Role Fidelity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join the Fidelity Institutional Technology Development team. In this role, you will apply strong software development and test automation expertise to design, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality solutions, with a focus on improving delivery speed, efficiency, and overall product quality. You will partner closely with Agile team members to lead quality practices across the development lifecycle, including defining and implementing test strategies, building automation frameworks, and developing automated and functional tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end). The role also involves driving quality within CI/CD pipelines, performing quality inspections and audits, coaching developers on quality best practices, and collaborating on test coverage, release velocity, and production health—while continuously leveraging new technologies to improve testing processes and outcomes. The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in automated testing environments 4+ years building strong test automation for web-based applications 4+ years working in Agile environments (SAFe Agile preferred) 2+ years of software development experience (preferred) Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, TDD, and BDD principles Experience testing enterprise applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) Expertise with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, Serenity, or Selenium Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP API automation (Rest Assured, ReadyAPI, JUnit) Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Terracore) Knowledge of containers and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Multi-stack engineering experience across Java/J2EE, Spring, JavaScript/Angular, and web services Experience creating mock services for microservice-based architectures Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, C#, TypeScript, Angular, HTML, XML, VB.NET) Experience with source control and test management tools (Atlassian suite, XRay) The Team You will collaborate with a diverse group of partners—including business stakeholders, architects, systems analysts, engineers, and technical leads—to develop and maintain mission‑critical security functionality. This includes features such as login and authentication flows, password recovery, multi‑factor authentication, and related capabilities. Your work directly supports thousands of registered investment advisors, correspondents, and individual investors who rely on our platform every day. Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles. The base salary range for this position is $97,000-185,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
