In our highly collaborative and global environment, you’ll analyze the effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources and participate in the tactical planning for completion of identified project segment. Essentially, you’ll perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems as well as perform technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced electronics systems. Looking for a highly motivated, mid/senior level Engineering Support Specialist (9-15 years) to support development and delivery of Submarine Sonar ILS products for the US Navy. Must possess excellent verbal and written communications, and be a fast learner. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes development of test procedures, training, and technical manuals. Applicant should have at least 9 years full-time experience in submarine fleet logistic support including experience in the fleet introduction, installation, test, operation, and life cycle support of the AN/BQQ-10 Series sonar system. What you’ll experience:
Provide Navy Customers, as well as internal business managers, status on projects. Provide input and comments during reviews of draft and preliminary MIP/MRCs as needed. Validate test procedures during testing events on hull as well as in the lab, often requiring shift work to complete. Develop operations and maintenance procedures for incorporation into technical manuals using engineering source documents. Develop provisioning technical data packages for AN/BQQ-10. Develop training using MS Office products to support operations and maintenance training. Use sound configuration management principles to ensure document configuration management is maintained. Develop technical manuals to support O-Level operations and maintenance. Develop schedules using tools like MS Project and staffs as appropriate to manage work. Job entails some travel to support Navy customers, which could be performed onboard naval vessels in port and at sea.
What you bring to the table
A Bachelor’s of Science or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience 9+ years active duty as a Sonar Technician Submarines (STS) will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
