Role
Summary As a User Experience Designer, you will apply your domain expertise and knowledge of UX best practices to drive high-impact product improvements for our TCGplayer mobile app — a critical customer-facing platform connecting hobbyists with our marketplace. You will join us as we explore emerging design-to-code workflows and AI-augmented design tools, contributing to how we work as we continue building our mobile design capability. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional peers to design and deliver user-centered solutions for both buyers and sellers. You will create thoughtful mobile experiences through an established design process grounded in research and validated through user testing. Our User Experience Design team prides itself on fostering camaraderie, embracing diversity, and bringing passion to the work. We value curiosity, craft, and a desire to stay connected to the real world. You do not need to be a hobbyist or gamer to thrive in TCGplayer's UX Design organization, but you should be comfortable with ambiguity and excited to support our commitment to making hobbies and games accessible, fun, and rewarding for everyone. If you are equal parts empathy and ambition, this is an opportunity to take risks, stretch yourself, and grow alongside teammates who will support you. What you will accomplish Explore new design-to-code workflows alongside the design lead, including AI-assisted tools and evaluating designs in working code rather than only in static deliverables Balance traditional UX deliverables with evolving modern workflows Create UX deliverables throughout the design process, evolving designs from early concepts, wireframes, and prototypes to final specifications Deliver high-value features across multiple projects, ensuring design solutions support user needs, align with business goals, and positively impact key performance metrics Apply advanced knowledge of Figma to create, iterate, and hand off design assets while working within an established design system Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to deliver high-quality solutions that drive value, inform product strategy, and support data-driven decision-making Participate in user testing, workshops, and research efforts to gather insights and validate design decisions Gain leadership approval and team alignment through compelling storytelling that clearly communicates your ideas and design rationale Build knowledge about trends in the trading card game (TCG) space, mobile commerce, and best-in-class mobile app experiences — actively sharing relevant ideas and inspiration 3. Key Skills and Technologies Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in a dedicated User Experience Design role with a BA/BS degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent practical experience Comfort with technical environments and willingness to work alongside engineering tools and AI-augmented workflows Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end user-centered design solutions and problem-solving
