Dominion Energy - Power Generation is actively seeking candidates to fill a Supervisor Power Generation Engineering position.
Provide leadership to a group of Industrial Control System Engineers, Technical Specialist, and Technical Consultants for tasks related to system studies, analytics, and conceptual and detailed engineering packages for fossil, hydro, solar, wind, and other non-nuclear power generating facilities. Works with the Managers Power Generation Engineering and Director Power Generation Engineering as well as plant management developing future strategies for plant projects in addition to resolving urgent or current power plant issues in order to keep units running. Requirements include providing regular feedback to all levels of Power Generation management including senior management. Specific requirements of the position involve tasks related to the following: Lead and supervise engineers in the development of engineering project packages. Supervise engineers as they employ technical expertise to troubleshoot power plant problems. Provide consultation, configuration of PES, inspection, and testing recommendations, and review work scopes, bids, and vendor reports and drawings. Lead in the development of strategies for support and update of instrumentation and control system equipment. Ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and various program requirements and standards. Supervise and provide technical expertise and support, particularly related to interfaces with Programmable Electronic Systems (PES) including the integration of digital protective relays. Lead group in providing technical support in the development and review of specifications, work scopes, bids, test procedures, alarm response procedures, commissioning plans, and vendor reports. Perform due diligence for plant acquisition and support for evaluation of control systems for new plant construction. Provide planned and forced outage support. Develop and maintain a cyber security maintenance program to ensure all devices in the fleet are patched and updated as appropriate. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
7+ years of relevant experience. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong leadership skills. Strong knowledge of engineering theories and principles along with ability to teach these skills to engineers. Develop and implement system-wide strategic initiatives that have direct impact on business goals and objectives. Monitor and coordinate engineering and technical resource group for projects, station support, station outage activities and various corporate programs. Prepare financial justification for corporate and station projects. Interface with site project manager, outage planning group, and station leadership to review, scope schedule, approve, and prioritize requirements of engineering support for the stations. Coordinates the engineering efforts of outside engineering consultants and Architectural/Engineering firms. Prepare, maintain, monitor, and be held accountable for group's budget. Provide technical support associated with construction and/or acquisition of new generating assets. Education Requirements
