Job Title Human Factors Specialist \ Usability Engineer (Varginha, MG) Job Description At Philips, you'll help design healthcare technologies that clinicians can use safely, efficiently, and confidently. As a Usability Designer within our Hospital Patient Monitoring business, you will lead Human Factors and usability activities that shape the experience of healthcare professionals and ultimately contribute to better patient care.

Your role

Lead Human Factors and usability engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle, partnering with multidisciplinary teams including UI/UX, Product Design, Clinical, R&D, Systems Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs. Define and execute usability engineering strategies, ensuring usability is integrated into product development plans, timelines, and decision-making processes. Conduct user research, develop use scenarios and task analyses, and evaluate cognitive, physical, and environmental factors that influence product use. Identify, assess, and document usability risks, potential use errors, and opportunities to improve user experience and patient safety. Plan, moderate, analyze, and report formative and summative usability studies in accordance with usability, privacy, and legal requirements. Review post-market feedback and create Human Factors Engineering documentation that supports product safety, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. You're the right fit if: Bachelor's or master's degree in human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering. Biomedical Engineering or related fields. You have 2+ years of experience in Human Factors Engineering, Usability / Testing engineering , preferably within the medical devices industry. Your skills include strong understanding of Human Factors principles and user-centered design methodologies, Advanced English (C1) , deep understanding of FDA Human Factors guidance and IEC usability standards , effective communication, excellent stakeholder management, strong data analysis (Excel) and presentation (PPT) skills. How we work together We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
