Job Details: until 6am. Start and end times may vary. Including Holidays. Occasionally may be asked to help with pull crew duties. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicant must have at least six consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months with the last 36 months. If applicant was laid-off, providing eldercare or childcare, the six month gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Position
Summary : This position is responsible for guarding hatchery and related facilities against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry; monitors hatchery equipment/room temperatures to insure that product environment is properly maintained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Monitors building and surrounding grounds for unauthorized entry, vandalism, safety hazards. (25%) Records temperature and humidity readings; Dispenses formaldehyde per schedule. (15%) Fumigates specified areas of the facility as required. (15%) Assists with egg sets as needed. (25%) Sorts through prepared chick orders prior to pickup and removes dead or injured birds. (10%) Other Duties, Responsibilities and Activities: These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: assisting with pull crew duties, janitorial and laundry duties (10%) Respirator certification is required and maintained by testing on an annual basis. Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements : The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
