Northrop Grumman Space Systems- Propulsion Division is currently looking for a Principal / Senior Principal Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join our Tooling and Facilities Engineering group supporting our manufacturing operations at our Rocket Motor Manufacturing facility located in the Promontory, Utah facility. This position will occasionally support the Clearfield , Copper Crossing and Bacchus locations. Candidate must be willing to travel to all 4 campuses and be on site. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. Description & Responsibilities: As an Electrical Reliability Engineer, you will be the technical leader for the reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of automated electrical and electromechanical equipment across the plant. You will specialize in a wide range of electrical components and systems including power distribution, motors and drives, PLC‑based controls, instrumentation, and safety‑related circuits. You will review existing manufacturing equipment and facilities and become familiar with OEM manufacturing build protocols, electrical schematics, and control logic as they relate to machine function and failure modes. You will ensure that correct preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance procedures are in place for both electrical and mechanical systems, and you will recommend and maintain critical spare parts to keep the plant operational on a 24/7 basis. A major part of this role is developing and implementing machine and system monitoring strategies by predicting failures before they occur using vibration, temperature, electrical signature, power‑quality, and other analysis. You will work to ensure that all manufacturing equipment and supporting electrical infrastructure perform maintain a high level of machine uptime. There is considerable latitude for independent action and decision making. You will support our current facility and enable it to grow to the next level of operations and production. You will prepare presentations and reports detailing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on the assets you support, and you will aid in developing standard electrical and reliability specifications for future equipment purchases. This position can be filled as a level 3 or level 4 Basic Qualifications: Principal Reliability Engineer (level 3)
