Manual Machinist As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for the set-up and operation of manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, air-hydraulic presses, grinders, saws and other machines to construct or repair metal parts, tools and machines. Your Challenge: Manufacture and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical calculations. Utilizes knowledge of working properties of aluminum and alloy steels. Works to required tolerances and is responsible for quality of work produced. Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level. Responsible to notify supervisor of tooling requirements. Follows preventative maintenance procedures. May be required to as sit in machine repair. Keeps machine and work area clean and orderly. Remains aware and follows all health and safety practices. Works in a safe fashion and reports any concerns to supervisor.
