PwC / SATIC Overview: PwC is seeking a motivated corporate tax professional to join its Corporate and International Tax advisory team at Senior Associate level. The role involves supporting mid-management and senior team members in advising corporate clients on the tax implications of corporate and business transactions, group restructurings and financing arrangements. Exposure to the Energy, Mining and Utilities and/or Financial Services industries will be beneficial.
Job summary
The Senior Associate will support the Corporate and International Tax advisory team in delivering high-quality tax advisory services to corporate clients. The role is responsible for preparing first drafts of tax opinions, structuring memoranda and client deliverables, conducting research on complex tax issues and assisting with the implementation of transactions. A minimum of 3 years’ post-university experience in a legal firm or environment is required . A professional qualification in law (Admitted Attorney) would be a valuable addition, alongside a minimum NQF level 7 qualification, with an NQF level 8 qualification (LLB / Honours degree) being preferred.
Key responsibilities
Primary duties (non-negotiable):Prepare first drafts of tax opinions, structuring decks and client memoranda on the implications of alternative courses of action; Conduct research on complex tax issues and the interpretation of tax legislation; Assist in advising clients on structuring business transactions, restructures, M&A activity and the tax implications thereof; Assist with the implementation of transactions including the review of financial models and/or transaction legals from a tax perspective; Support the preparation of client deliverables for review by Managers, Directors and Partners; Keep abreast with the ever-changing tax landscape through relevant technical training.
