About this role

The Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist is responsible for accurately and promptly entering payment data from vendor invoices into the Accounts Payable financial system, ensuring timely vendor payments, performing daily control activities, and providing backup support to the AP Supervisor. A thorough understanding of the entire AP process is essential. This role may be assigned to Pre-Approved, PO, or Non-PO processing but is expected to assist with other responsibilities as needed by management. Essential Functions: Process manual wire entries with exceptional accuracy and timeliness, adhering to strict deadlines. Assist with daily transfers to the General Ledger (GL) and variance reporting. Prepare and resolve Accounts Payable (AP) control reports promptly. These reports may include, but are not limited to, signature controls, duplicate reviews, aging, recurring payments, prepayments, and invoice hold reports for banking, tolerance, and input holds. Prepare Daily Assignments and business day reports Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks, including variance analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual reviews, and report generation. Collaborate with Accounts Payable leaders during internal and external audits and retrieve source documents as needed. Proactively communicate, collaborate, and partner with other departments, team members, and external vendors to resolve invoice and payment issues promptly, ensuring follow-through to payment. Adhere to and promote the company's values, strategies, policies, and compliance measures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Scope: Collaborate with both Shoreside and Shipboard Accounts Payable leaders during internal and external audits and retrieve source documents as needed. Problem-solving: Proactively communicate, collaborate, and partner with other departments, team members, and external vendors to resolve invoice and payment issues promptly. Impact: Adhere to and promote the company's values, strategies, policies, and compliance measures. Leadership: For all roles: Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.

Essential/Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Preferred experience with Oracle. Possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional business presence. In addition to other duties/functions, this position requires full commitment and support for promoting ethical and compliant culture. More specifically, this position requires integrity, honesty, and respectful treatment of others, as well as a willingness to speak up when they see misconduct or have concerns. Essential experience required: 3+ years preferred Accounts Payable or other related Accounting Experience. Travel : No or very little travel likely Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Physical Demands : Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week.
