A Day in the Life This role supports strategic communications and digital engagement initiatives by creating audience-focused short-form content optimized for social and owned digital channels. The function helps translate business, employee, and thought leadership stories into platform-native content that increases reach, engagement, and audience connection across channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms. The position is based at Medtronic's Operational Headquarters (OHQ) in Minneapolis, Minnesota and works in an onsite environment, collaborating closely with communicators, content contributors, and business stakeholders. Minimal travel may be required to support content capture, internal events, and storytelling initiatives. The Short-Form Video Content Creator develops engaging, mobile-first content designed for digital and social audiences. This role combines storytelling, platform expertise, audience insights, and content optimization to create high-performing short-form video assets that support communication objectives and strengthen audience engagement. The position works closely with communicators and subject matter experts to transform ideas, events, and business narratives into compelling digital content.
Primary Responsibilities
Create short-form video content optimized for social and digital platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging channels. Capture, edit, and publish content using mobile-first production workflows and creator-focused tools. Develop platform-native storytelling assets including behind-the-scenes content, employee-generated content, thought leadership clips, and event-based coverage. Repurpose existing video, written, and presentation content into engaging short-form assets designed for mobile audiences. Create captions, subtitles, graphics overlays, and basic visual enhancements that improve engagement, accessibility, and audience retention. Analyze content performance metrics and apply insights to improve creative approaches, audience engagement, and content effectiveness. Test new formats, hooks, editing styles, and storytelling techniques to optimize content performance across channels. Partner with communicators, content contributors, and subject matter experts to develop authentic and audience-focused digital content. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years of experience creating content for digital, social media, or owned-channel environments; or advanced degree. Experience creating short-form content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or similar social media channels. Experience using mobile-first video production
