Position
Summary The Senior Manager, Strategy Planning & Governance is responsible for leading strategic planning, governance, and portfolio oversight activities that support the long-term success of the Payer Relations organization. This role drives alignment on business priorities, decision-making processes, and risk management practices while providing strategic insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical leader with experience in business planning, governance, executive communications, and cross-functional collaboration who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. Broad experience spanning strategy development, governance, portfolio management, and executive communications. Roles & Responsibilities Lead the development, execution, and ongoing maintenance of multi-year and annual payer strategy plans. Manage governance processes, decision-making frameworks, and executive review forums to support effective business operations. Monitor portfolio performance, strategic initiatives, and business risks, providing recommendations and insights to leadership. Develop executive presentations, strategic communications, and planning materials that support key business decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Legal and Compliance, to ensure governance standards and strategic commitments are effectively managed. Travel: Up to 10% travel required Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in strategy, corporate planning, governance, business operations, program management, or a related field. Experience within healthcare, managed care, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), retail pharmacy, or a related industry. Demonstrated experience leading business planning processes, governance programs, or executive review cycles. Proven ability to develop executive-level presentations, strategic recommendations, and business communications. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or enterprise planning. Experience designing or implementing governance frameworks, decision-rights models, or operating structures. Knowledge of payer strategy, pharmacy reimbursement, healthcare economics, or pharmacy network management. Master's degree (MBA, MPH, or similar advanced degree). Interest in advancing into broader commercial, operational, or strategic leadership roles.
Education
Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Master's degree preferred. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $82,940.00 - $182,549.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
