Job Description
Job Family Definition: Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems. Determines architecture and logic design, design verification through software developed for component and system simulation, and builds physical implementations through development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Analyzes designs to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results to enable prototype and production VLSI solutions. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Management Level Definition: Contributions have major, lasting technical impact, within and across business units, multiple projects or products. Viewed as a technical authority, internally and externally, innovating within and across business units and functions. Identifies and applies emerging technologies and trends. Champion large projects that enable the company's long term goals. Leads and connects others across functions to unite around a common goal. Actively mentors others and demonstrates leadership within the HPE technical community.
Responsibilities
Develops strategy and technology roadmaps for VLSI design and development engineering across the Global Business Unit and company at large. Recognized as a lead authority in key VLSI technical areas, Plays a crucial role in defining industry standards, developing product features that become accepted as de-facto industry standards Provides VLSI consultation, design input, and feedback for prototype and new product development. Leads VLSI design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures and contributes towards decisions which have major, lasting technical impact on strategic directions and cost efficiency of the unit. Provides technical leadership and accountability for multiple project teams and engineers. Leverages recognized VLSI expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups. Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members to set multiple examples, over time, of VLSI design and development innovation and excellence. Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical leaders. Identifies emerging VLSI technologies and analyses their impact. Is instrumental in identifying new VLSI projects and programs.
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent Typically 15+ years experience. Knowledge and Skills: Industry expert in electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic, and computer architecture. Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills. Industry expert on designing VLSI components, integrated circuitry, architectures and algorithms into complex VLSI solutions. Industry expert in programming and scripting, hardware description language, electronic design automation (EDA),
