Job Description - Principal Electrical Engineer (EELE35) Title:   Principal Electrical Engineer Company:  KBR - Inhouse Engineering Location:  Abu Dhabi, UAE - KBR Office  Key Consideration: Preference will be given to candidates holding valid OPITO-approved T-BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications with a minimum validity of six months. The selected candidate will be required to travel ADNOC offshore on a rotational basis to conduct site surveys, support brownfield assessments, verify existing installations, and obtain project-specific engineering data necessary for design and execution. Job Purpose The Principal Electrical Engineer serves as the discipline technical authority and supports the lead electrical engineer for ADNOC Offshore projects. The role is responsible for providing strategic technical leadership, ensuring engineering excellence, and overseeing the execution of electrical engineering activities during Conceptual Studies, FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, Brownfield Modifications, Asset Life Extension Projects, and Commissioning Support.

Develop & Review of electrical design philosophies, technical specifications, design basis, standards, and procedures. Prepare & Review of load list, load calculations, cable sizing, earthing and lighting calculations including preparation of cable schedules and interconnection diagrams Provide technical governance and ensure consistency of engineering deliverables across projects. Prepare Material Requisition and Review for various electrical items like Transformers, HV/MV/LV Switchgears, UPS, Cables, Electrical Bulks, AC/DC UPS etc., perform offer evaluation, TBE, vendor drawing review, attending FAT for all major electrical equipment / packages Technical review of mechanical packages including offer review, TBE, VDR and coordination for engineering interfaces Review of Offshore Navigational light and helideck lighting layout Ability to perform / review complex engineering calculations including Power System Studies using ETAP/SKM Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Understand and implement relevant HSE aspects while performing assigned tasks Ensure designs comply with ADNOC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and international engineering standards. Evaluate existing offshore power systems and define upgrade requirements Conduct offshore site surveys and verification activities. Assess existing facilities for brownfield modifications and tie-ins. Support constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews. Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Control, Telecom, Civil, Structural, Pipeline, and Construction disciplines. Support project risk assessments and technical reviews. Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability, and Design Reviews. Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and project audits. Support technical queries and management of changes throughout project execution.
