Overview
We are seeking a Director of Business Management to serve as a strategic and operational leader for the US Financial Services (FSI) organization. Reporting to the FSI Chief of Staff, this role will shape how the organization operates, invests, hires, and scales—while accelerating responsible AI experimentation and helping the team operate as a Frontier Company. The Director will translate business priorities into disciplined execution, connect strategy to resources, and lead the operating mechanisms that enable leaders and teams to make faster, data-informed decisions. The role requires strong business judgment, financial and organizational acumen, executive presence, and a passion for using AI to reimagine work and improve employee and customer outcomes. This leader will build the systems, culture, and capabilities required for FSI to experiment, learn, and scale with AI. They will create clarity across priorities, funding, talent, and accountability; strengthen organizational health and operational rigor; and turn lessons from experimentation into repeatable practices that improve speed, quality, and business impact. Responsibilities
AI Experimentation and Frontier Company Leadership Lead a portfolio of responsible AI experiments that address priority business and operational scenarios, with clear hypotheses, success measures, safeguards, and paths to scale. Create an experimentation rhythm that enables teams to test, learn, share insights, and rapidly convert successful pilots into durable ways of working. Partner with business, sales, technical, legal, privacy, security, and compliance stakeholders to ensure AI use is responsible, secure, and aligned with Microsoft standards. Champion adoption of Microsoft AI capabilities and develop practical playbooks, learning forums, and communities that build AI fluency across FSI. Measure the value of AI-enabled work through outcomes such as productivity, quality, cycle time, employee experience, and business impact. Business, Budget, and Resource Management Own the annual budget planning and management process, including forecasting, investment tradeoffs, spend governance, and alignment of resources to strategic priorities. Provide leaders with timely financial insights, scenarios, and recommendations that improve decision quality and maximize return on investment. Establish transparent controls, review cadences, and accountability for budget performance, vendor spend, and discretionary investments. Hiring and Workforce Strategy Lead workforce planning and hiring governance in partnership with Finance, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders. Translate organizational priorities into role and capability plans, hiring targets, sequencing, and resource allocation decisions. Use data to monitor hiring progress, identify risks, remove blockers, and maintain alignment between talent investments and business needs. Frontier Operations and Rhythm of Business Design and lead an integrated rhythm of business that connects strategy, execution, financials, talent, customer priorities, and organizational health. Prepare the Chief of Staff and senior leaders for business reviews and decision forums through concise insights, clear recommendations, and disciplined follow-through. Maintain a portfolio view of strategic initiatives, dependencies, milestones, risks, decisions, and outcomes; intervene early to keep work on track. Strengthen information flow and cross-functional coordination across FSI and partner organizations. People &
