The Propulsion group is an organization that supports the Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and Controls directorate within FBM that is responsible for the manufacturing and production of the boost rocket motor subsystem. This position is for a Mechanical Engineer Sr. whose responsibilities will focus on propulsion hardware, manufacturing processes, and requalification efforts. Collaborating well in a team environment and having excellent communication skills are key to success in this position. In this role, the candidate will have numerous opportunities to represent the Propulsion IPT with our partners (customer and subcontractor), with many opportunities for career development along the way.   The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications 
 Bachelor's degree in a related discipline - Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study Any combination of exposure to: engineering project management, propulsion rocketry, manufacturing, and/or energetics Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance Desired Skills 
 Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience Experience with FBM processes and products Hardware experience including, analysis, assembly, integration, and test Experience with EVM and developing Basis of Estimates, Technical Evaluations, and SSOWs Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
