Job Description
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Toxins serves to advance science and standards of care for patients through their engagement with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders within the healthcare system. Through scientific engagement, MSLs provide credible, practical and clinically relevant information and solutions to enable both the effective and safe use of AbbVie products. Collectively, as members of GMA, they work to make a remarkable impact on patient care around the world. MSLs work to communicate information and facilitate dialogue about AbbVie’s marketed products, and compounds in development, in a strictly scientific, non-promotional manner, and in full compliance with applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie’s policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice. NOTE: This is a 6-month Max Term Contract with up to 50% travel requirement within ANZ.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Associate Director, Medical Affairs, ANZ, to set priorities, define strategy, and execute the Medical Affairs plan for the therapeutic area. Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the local clinical landscape, stakeholder needs, and treatment pathways to inform medical strategy and field activities. Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, and other relevant healthcare stakeholders across ANZ. Conduct effective territory and stakeholder planning, including identification of priority stakeholders, engagement opportunities, and unmet medical needs. Plan, document, and track scientific engagement activities in accordance with company systems and applicable local requirements. Conduct high-quality, non-promotional scientific exchange with healthcare professionals to improve awareness of Allergan Aesthetics products, supporting data, and appropriate use. Provide scientific education and training to healthcare professionals to build expertise, confidence, and understanding of current and future therapeutic options. Deliver balanced medical insights and scientific updates that support evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice. Support educational initiatives, speaker programs, and scientific meetings in a compliant and medically appropriate manner. Maintain a high level of scientific credibility and therapeutic area expertise to serve as a trusted scientific resource externally. Identify and engage key physicians, nurses and other stakeholders who influence the scientific and clinical landscape within the therapeutic area. Develop and execute KOL engagement plans to strengthen relationships with physicians and other stakeholders as relevant. Support local, regional, and national scientific activities with key stakeholders to advance disease awareness and medical understanding. Identify and foster relationships with emerging leaders with relevant interests through educational initiatives. Represent the company’s scientific perspective at customer meetings, congresses, and professional forums. Keep current on scientific, clinical, and market developments in ANZ, the broader Asia-Pacific region, and globally.
