Senior Interaction Designer, Google Research UX

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products. As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products. Create clear, intuitive user flows and state behaviors. Design frameworks for human-AI collaboration. Translate research and AI model capabilities into functional, interactive prototypes using AI-assisted coding and tools. Deliver polished designs, considering layouts, motion, and interaction patterns by applying Google's material design system. Partner closely with researchers, engineers, Product Managers, and subject matter experts to translate technical constraints into intuitive user experiences. Navigate fast-moving research environments by using prototypes and designs to quickly test hypotheses and iterate based on feedback.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design. Experience using AI tools throughout the design process. Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions). Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization. 2 years of experience leading design projects. Experience designing for emerging AI technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs), generative media, agentic systems, or multimodal AI interactions. Experience using AI-accelerated workflows and AI-assisted development tools throughout the design process. Experience basing design decisions in UX Research insights.
