Job Overview: The Director of Planning for Backstage will manage and execute the planning, placement, and fulfillment processes. This position will have responsibility for merchandise plans, location plans, inventory and productivity. Planners work in close collaboration with their buying counterpart to drive sales and achieve margin goals. Essential Functions:

Develop seasonal departmental and class pre-season plans for sales, margin and turn/wos to deliver company goals in collaboration with key business partners. Develop monthly departmental and class pre-season plans for sales, markdowns, receipts, markups, gross margin, stock, aur and all financial metrics, recommending actions to achieve targets. Convert retail plans into units. Develop store plans in units and dollars. Create unit need and feed into open to ship by location. Revise in-season operating plans through the official monthly rolling operating forecast process as well as the weekly open to buy process for all financial metrics. Manage and communicate risks to sales, stock and margin with recommended actions. Revise in-season store forecasts and update the open to ship unit needs. Manage the basic item replenishments. Perform historical business review including sales, gross margin, price, markdowns, turn/wos, aur, etc. Develop recommendations for Buyers based on historical analysis. Identify deficient or overstock stores’ inventories, provide solutions, and suggest actions for markdowns, cancels, additional or special buys and other changes to ongoing business needs. Qualifications and Competencies

4 Year / Bachelors Degree 4 + Years Experience Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner. Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels. Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs. Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems. Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
