About the role 
 We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a multi-discipline EW capability development team at our Gloucester site. As an Embedded Software Engineer you will work within a multi-skilled team, using the OpenCPI framework to build, test, and optimize software-defined radio systems and RF applications. You’ll work closely with peers, Delivery Managers and Technical Leads to ensure that the customer mission requirements are achieved in efficient and innovative ways.

Key Responsibilities

Component and Worker Development – Undertake the development and integration of DSP and SDR functions in C++ which will be incorporated into a wider OpenCPI application. Platform & API development – Implement signal processing pipelines, embedded Linux drivers, firmware, and application management code to manage the integration of our applications with radios in use by our clients in the real world System Design & Integration – Operate within a cross-functional team designing and integrating RF communication systems, ensuring seamless operation within complex mission environments. Test & Measurement – Engage in test driven development strategies and consider testing throughout the development lifecycle of an application, implementing test harnesses and simulations for effective system verification and validation. Innovation – Embrace the use of the latest AI/ML tooling and hybrid cloud compute environments to deliver results that continually outpace and challenge the status quo. Collaboration & Reporting – Use Agile principles and strong communication to work with peers and leaders to ensure that our delivery is providing the right solution on time. Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience 
 It is expected that you can evidence significant experience in one of the following:   Using C++ to implement efficient solutions on resource constrained embedded devices Working with RF communications and software-defined radio technologies & architectures Working knowledge of digital signal processing, algorithm or payload development, and embedded system design Competent in C/C++ and Python for embedded applications Desired Skills 
 EW or SIGINT capability development (including RF waveform and protocol vulnerability analysis)
