The Team
International Affairs is a cross-practice, specialist offer at FleishmanHillard that works with multinational businesses, foreign governments, and international organisations on geopolitical, economic, humanitarian/development and climate issues. As part of the Corporate Affairs practice, we create and lead integrated communications, media relations and stakeholder engagement programmes that address big challenges and aim to have an impact upon the world.
The Role
As a Senior Account Manager focused on International Affairs, you will bring a passion for communications related to international issues. This includes developing and using messaging and narratives that are compelling and persuasive; delivering media coverage based on knowledge of the UK and international media landscape; issues management; identifying and managing speaking opportunities and events; and helping clients to show up effectively at global forums such as WEF Davos, UN General Assembly, COP summits, and others. You will be a day-to-day point person for your clients, offering input based on your understanding of their priorities and the wider context that affects their communications and strategic priorities. You will play a key role in providing excellent client service as a strong, organised project manager who ensures we remain on track and on time and who teaches and mentors junior team members. You will also support new business efforts, such as proposals and pitches. This role will sit within our Corporate Affairs practice, a diverse group of collaborative, creative individuals. Depending upon your interests and goals, this role will also work on corporate reputation, issues management and crisis communications programmes as part of the broader team.
Key Responsibilities
Driving high-quality media coverage across UK and international media, including crafting creative media angles, developing comment opportunities, and creating content for media. Enabling clients to build closer relationships with stakeholders by developing and managing events, roundtables, partnerships and briefings. Ensuring the smooth running of accounts by managing team activity, overseeing the delivery of timely, high-quality deliverables, and providing feedback and guidance to junior staff. Building effective client relationships by using your understanding of your clients’ priorities and pain points to offer counsel and anticipate client requests and needs. Contributing an international perspective and cultural awareness to help clients communicate to UK, European and global audiences. Being actively involved in the team’s new business efforts, including contributing to proposals and pitches, supporting marketing activity and networking with prospects. Working with other FleishmanHillard offices, ensuring processes and systems work efficiently and supporting the development of multi-country campaigns hubbed from London. Delivering continuous feedback both upwards and downwards to help us be more inclusive, supporting and effective as a team.
