We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure R&D to join our J&J Orthopaedics team (DePuy Synthes). This position is based in Boston, MA. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Purpose: As a Senior Software Engineer in the Infrastructure R&D team, you will lead development of high‑performance, on‑device medical software applications that securely connect to cloud for telemetry, command & control, remote diagnostics, and over‑the‑air updates. You will collaborate closely with a multi-functional team of systems, hardware, firmware, quality, and regulatory partners to deliver safe, reliable, and scalable software that directly impacts patient outcomes. You will be responsible for: Build production‑grade on‑device applications and services in C#/.NET for Windows targets, integrating with clinical applications, local and cloud services. Experience with relational databases and embedded databases such as SQLite, including schema design, data modeling, and data normalization.
