Joining our dedicated Dimensional Management team, you will be responsible for delivering robust technical tolerancing solutions across Aircraft Structures and Systems Installation packages—guiding designs from conceptual schemes through to production detail design and active shop-floor build support. Working within multi-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality, you will drive optimum product definitions that seamlessly balance Airbus product design principles with complex industrial manufacturing constraints. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM Apply advanced tolerancing solutions and complex design toolsets to achieve the optimum balance between high performance and cost-effective manufacturing—supporting the airframe journey from early R&T through to production, the Belfast wing facility, and Final Assembly Lines (FAL). Collaborate across Engineering, Stress, Aerodynamics, Manufacturing, and Quality teams within a digitalised environment, offering specialized dimensional expertise across Airbus Commercial programmes to reach optimal production compromises. Provide rapid engineering dispositions for manufacturing defects and non-conformances, while leading trade studies to ensure all technical deliverables strictly satisfy Airbus quality standards and production schedules. Coach and mentor junior design engineers, contributing to continuous process improvements and driving engineering excellence within a global aerospace environment.
ABOUT YOU
Essential criteria Possess a minimum of an HNC in an Engineering related subject and hold a minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience in Engineering, ideally in Design with a specific focus on Dimensional Management. Be able to work as part of a team at both site and group level. Ability to analyse, propose and solve technical problems. Knowledge of ISO Tolerances annotation, 1D / 3D stack-up analysis and MECAMASTER/3DCS toolsets. Knowledge and experience of metallic and composite structures. Desirable criteria: Experience in Computer Aided Design, CATIA V5 would be an advantage. Experience in supporting concessions would be an advantage. Experience in manufacturing would be an advantage. Project management skills would be an advantage.
