In this role, you will: ∙ Perform structural analyses for reentry vehicles (including non-linear/dynamic). ∙ Produce and maintain models generated from both in-house and commercially available software codes, that simulate hostile encounter events, penetration mechanics, and impact physics. ∙ Prepare test plans, post-process test data, and compile test reports. Contribute as a part of our product development team, where effective communication is critical. ∙ Provide review, interpretation, flow down, and implementation of program requirements. ∙ Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews ∙ Have the ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications • Understanding of structural analysis through education or equivalent experience. • Experience with Structural Finite Element Modeling/Analysis (FEM/FEA). • Experience performing analysis efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design activity. • Active or Current Secret clearance; must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance; must be a US Citizen. Desired Skills • A related Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position • Experience with Implicit/Explicit finite element modeling like LS-Dyna, Abaqus, NASTRAN 601/701/etc. or equivalent. • Experiencing working to requirements, interfacing with customers, and presenting technical analysis • Experience designing verification and validation tests and correlating models post test • Experience with x-ray deposition, material vulnerability, and other hostile encounter environments • Experience with structural analysis for re-entry vehicles • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently • Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis • Active Top Secret Clearance • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice #SpaceFlightScience Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
