About this role
AWS is looking for a Migration Sales Lead to accelerate customers' cloud migration journeys and drive migration-related business growth. As the go-to migration advisor for our customers, you will develop a solid understanding of the full migration landscape — spanning VMware, SAP, Windows/SQL Server, Database, and Mainframe workloads — and translate that knowledge into compelling business narratives that resonate with CxO and senior IT decision-makers. You will partner closely with field Sales, Solutions Architects, Specialists, Professional Services, and partners to build qualified migration pipeline, shape deal strategy, and lead cross-functional teams that guide customers from initial assessment through successful cutover. This is both a strategic and hands-on role: you will define how we position migration value to the market while also rolling up your sleeves to orchestrate complex engagements, remove blockers, and ensure delivery excellence. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, connects technical depth with commercial acumen, and earns trust quickly across internal and external stakeholders. Key job responsibilities - Develop and maintain working knowledge across all major migration workloads (VMware, SAP, Windows/SQL Server, Database, and Mainframe), staying current on tools, methods, and AWS service capabilities for each pathway. - Articulate the business value of migration to CxO and senior IT leaders — including cost optimization, operational resilience, innovation acceleration, and risk reduction — tailored to each migration type and customer context. - Organize and lead cross-functional teams (Specialists, SAs, CSMs, ProServe, partners) to guide customers through end-to-end migration journeys, ensuring timely execution, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes. - Build and maintain qualified migration pipeline; support opportunity scoping, business case development, and deal progression for priority accounts. - Develop reusable migration content, enablement materials, and lightweight engagement frameworks that help the broader field team position migration opportunities.
