What You Will Do
The qualified candidate will provide mechanical engineering design and drafting to the Mechanical Design department using Creo MCAD tool and Windchill Common PDM. The candidate will under general direction, perform mechanical design and some tolerance analysis, and will assist in the construction of tooling and test equipment used in manufacturing infrared focal plane array packaging in a clean room environment. Tooling may include fixtures, jigs, test dewars and the like, used in manufacturing Focal Planes, vacuum dewars and uncooled vacuum packages. The candidate will work closely with a manufacturing and/or process engineers to ensure that the tooling will meet requirements. The candidate will assist in the procurement and will work with the suppliers to ensure that the components meet the program technical, cost and schedule requirements. The candidate will engage in technical discussions with internal customers.
Qualifications
You Must Have Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related (STEM) field major obtained by start date. Experience with CAD tool. Experience in Creo. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects Qualifications We Prefer Knowledge of manufacturing tooling for cryogenic electronic packaging and clean room protocols. Experience in additive manufacturing techniques. Experience in high precision optical alignment and assembly techniques. Experience in DFMA . Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing form controls in accordance with ASME Y14.5M.
