Job Description
Position Summary Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in both Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Human Resources? Our Safety & Human Resources Internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical business experience while making a meaningful impact within a manufacturing environment. This position will spend approximately 80% of the internship supporting Safety and Environmental initiatives and 20% supporting Human Resources projects and activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technology-savvy, and excited to use data, digital tools, and creativity to improve workplace safety and employee experiences .
What You'll Do
Safety & Environmental Responsibilities (Approximately 80%) As a member of the Safety team, you will assist with a variety of projects and initiatives, including: Conducting and documenting Confined Space audits Converting audit findings and safety records into electronic formats for improved tracking and reporting Completing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) audits and digitizing results Designing and creating AI-generated safety training videos and educational content Updating emergency response plans, facility layouts, and evacuation diagrams Analyzing near-miss and safety incident data to identify trends and build reporting dashboards Assisting with Safety and Environmental compliance initiatives Supporting continuous improvement efforts related to workplace safety Human Resources Responsibilities (Approximately 20%) As part of the HR team, you will gain exposure to the employee lifecycle and general HR operations by: Supporting special HR projects and process improvements Assisting with employee engagement and communication initiatives Gaining exposure to recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR processes Partnering with HR team members on various business needs and administrative projects Learning about the role of an HR Generalist in a manufacturing environment What You'll Gain Real-world experience in Environmental Health & Safety and Human Resources Exposure to manufacturing operations and workplace safety programs Experience using technology, data analytics, and AI tools to solve business challenges Professional development through cross-functional collaboration Mentorship from Safety and HR professionals Opportunities to lead meaningful projects that create lasting organizational impact Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Technology Engineering, Or a related field Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint Interest in workplace safety, compliance, and continuous improvement Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects Experience with data analysis, graphic design, video editing, AI tools, or safety programs is a plus Preferred Characteristics We are looking for someone who: Enjoys solving problems and improving processes Is comfortable working with data and technology Has a passion for creating safer workplaces Demonstrates initiative and curiosity Wants exposure to both Safety and Human Resources functions Join us for an internship where you'll gain valuable experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop skills that will prepare you for a successful career in Safety, Human Resources, or Operations.
