What You Will Do This role focuses on developing learners' skills in safety, compliance, and operations and maintenance tasks through technical training using pre-developed materials and personal expertise. Training is hands-on in simulated or field settings, ensuring learners are engaged, supported, and evaluated according to regulatory and internal standards. The role also involves assessing employees' on-the-job skills to ensure safe and effective application, contributing to a collaborative team environment. Facilitate hands-on and classroom training to build employee skills and reinforce technical and compliance knowledge through interactive activities and assessments. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to align training with workforce needs and escalate unresolved issues. Provide technical support to address learning gaps and assist in resolving equipment-related challenges. Contribute to the development of competency-based materials and mentor instructional staff. Participate in train-the-trainer programs and maintain accurate training records in the LMS. What You Bring To Freeport High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of experience in training or leading teams in a relevant field; OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of directly related work experience Technical competence equivalent to an experienced operator or mechanical tradesperson/journeyman Proven computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office and Windows Strong analytical thinking and effective communication skills Demonstrated passion for developing others and willingness to learn Ability to follow and apply company policies and procedures Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards Experience in adult education or corporate training preferred Experience in mining or industrial environments preferred Familiarity with MSHA/OSHA standards preferred Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred Experience mentoring/coaching in field environments preferred Familiarity with competency-based training models preferred MSHA Blue Card certification preferred Preferred Qualifications Recent experience operating production drills, including PV271 and T50 drill platforms. Demonstrated knowledge of drilling practices, drilling performance optimization, pre-operational inspections, and troubleshooting common drilling issues. Experience operating over-the-road heavy trucks with a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred. Experience operating Rotary Track Drills (RTD) in a surface mining environment. Proficient in the operation of track dozers. Experience operating motor graders. Experience operating small loaders and other mobile equipment used in mining and construction environments. Previous experience providing on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring, or skills verification for equipment operators.
