A Day in the Life
The Systems Administrator II is a crucial member within the global infrastructure team. The applicant provides level 3 support for data center systems and operations. Implements, maintains and supports global on-premises and cloud-based system environments across multiple locations and countries, including foundational Microsoft Azure services and hybrid infrastructure. Responsible for configuring server hardware, software, storage and cloud services to meet our global business needs. Serves as a senior point of contact for systems support teams, network users and other business units for technical issues.
The Impact You'll Make
• Provide operational support for 600 Windows Servers (emphasis on Windows server 2016 and newer) including monitoring server performance and service availability within compliance to Service Level Agreements.
• Resolves Tier 3 incidents and requests escalated from other support tiers
• Manage and upgrade and VCenter 7 and later with 50+ ESXi hosts.
• Administer and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, backup, monitoring, and security services.
• Support and maintain hybrid identity solutions integrating Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft 365.
• Leverages or builds appropriate technical tools to perform administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration (such as back up, restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring)
• Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for all routine Systems Administration functions to ensure security requirements and operational goals are achieved.
• Partners with the app development, security and project management teams to help implement new systems and services.
• Develops automation tools and processes to help scale operations.
• Researches, develops, and implements new technologies and practices as necessary.
• Mentors other support staff
Who You Are
• 7+ years experience supporting a Microsoft enterprise technologies (Active Directory,GPO, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Print services, File shares etc.)
• 7+ years experience managing and troubleshooting Windows Servers.
• 7+ years experience managing virtual machines using VMWare hypervisors on Cisco UCS hardware.
• 7+ years experience deploying and managing EMC SAN storage arrays incl. Fibre Channel zoning.
• 5+ years experience managing Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and hybrid identity environments. Experience with core Microsoft Azure services including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, and governance. 3+ years' experience supporting Linux operating systems
• 7+ years experience writing complex automation scripts using Powershell.
• 3+ years experience managing systems and deploying software using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Experience administering System Center Orchestrator (SCOR)
• 3+ years experience administering VMWare Horizon.
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be highly motivated and must work well within a team environment.
• Must be willing to be in on-call rotation and offer weekend support as needed.
