FAST Summary and Position The Financial Advisor Solutions Team (FAST) sits within AWMS, the wealth management distribution arm for Ares, and works with both portfolio management and sales teams to support the growing democratization of private investments. As such, our goal is to be the first call that financial advisors make when investing in private markets. To help deliver on that, FAST provides research, education, and tools that demonstrate the diversification and performance benefits alternatives can offer within a broader portfolio. The FAST team is like a startup within an established firm. We are now looking to add an exceptional Analyst to our growing team in Denver. The analyst will be a critical part of shaping the future trajectory of the team and get in on the ground floor of the most interesting sector in finance, in the early innings of a major industry shift.
Key Responsibilities
Build expertise in Portfolio Construction and Private Markets investing—be viewed as a subject matter expert for asset allocation topics across private equity, private credit, private real estate, and private infrastructure Become a go-to resource for macro and economic trends, ESG and impact investing, and other thematic topics Build quantitative portfolio analysis and optimization tools Problem-solve to automate inefficient processes Conduct research: analyze large sets of private markets data to identify actionable investment ideas Create exceptional client-facing content, including presentations, publications, and media videos focused on asset allocation, investment returns, risk management, and investment policy and strategy Knowledge and Skills We’re Looking For “Hard” 1-3 years of work experience in private markets, asset management, banking, consulting, or similar Proficient Excel modelling skills and a deep grasp of functions and shortcuts to handle and manipulate large data sets Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word to create and deliver clear presentations that tell a powerful story Experience building Excel macros and working in R or Python is highly preferred Experience with Bloomberg is a plus “Soft” Entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset with a creative bent Ability to create a “narrative” with data and market themes with equal ability to create tangible deliverables to support that messaging Strong work ethic paired with a passion for the quantitative An understanding of portfolio construction principles and private markets Must possess strong integrity and professionalism Compensation The anticipated range for this position is $80,000- $100,000 annual base salary plus performance-based discretionary bonus.
