Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Core Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00PM - 2:30AM or 10PM-6:30AM. Weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts may vary. Start and end time may vary.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Core Laboratory department Perform bench work and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed, and results are reported in a timely manner Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary Engage in continuous process and service level improvements Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures Process and maintain payroll and personnel files Perform administrative duties as needed Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology 5 or more years of experience as a Medical Lab Technologist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) TN Laboratory Supervisor License or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire Preferred Qualifications: 1 or more years of experience supervising or leading a team 3 or more years of experience as a MLS or MLT generalist Additional Job Standards: In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office Strong communication skills; both written and verbal High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Are you an experienced clinical laboratory professional looking for leadership opportunity ?
