 The Accounting Representative is responsible for accurately researching, identifying, processing, allocating, and recording cash transactions for Great American Insurance Company (GAIC), Mid-Continent Casualty Company (MCC), and Republic. The position supports multiple bank accounts and lockboxes, manages a variety of payment types, prepares related journal entries and disbursements, and provides critical support to Agency Bill and Direct Bill operations.  Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on‑site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.  Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Cash Processing: Researching and applying payments, creating journal entries, allocating funds, and recording agency-related receipts. Bank and Lockbox Management: Managing ACH, wire, check, and lockbox transactions, resolving exceptions, processing returned payments, and coordinating with banking partners. Accounting Support: Preparing cash receipt and intercompany journal entries, including transfers when payments are received by the incorrect legal entity. Disbursements: Processing refunds and payments related to funds received in error. Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining processing statistics, supporting monthly reporting, and updating procedures and process documentation.

Support: Providing critical support to Agency Bill and Direct Bill operations.  Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education: College degree preferred but not required 1-3 years of experience in accounting support functions Demonstrates multi-tasking, attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred experience with all Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Excel. Scope of Job/Qualifications: Possesses advanced organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills.
