The Experience Want your code to shape the future of enterprise AI and cloud computing? Join Salesforce as an Associate Data Scientist — AI Strategy & Governance within the Office of the Architect. You will work alongside senior data scientists and principal architects to build, evaluate, and scale breakthrough AI features and data products that millions of users rely on every day. As part of our year-long new graduate program, you will receive dedicated mentorship, build a strong internal network, and gain a front-row seat to how key architectural and strategic AI decisions are made at Salesforce. We bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and production-grade software engineering, ensuring our trusted platform remains stable, performant, and scalable. What You'll Actually Be Doing Sit alongside senior data scientists and principal architects in planning, design reviews, and roadmap discussions to align on strategic AI initiatives. Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable products, algorithms, and AI features across the Salesforce platform. Build and maintain production data pipelines using Python and SQL to directly support model training, evaluation, and inference. Design and run rigorous evaluations of AI models, agentic workflows, and large language models to solve our most critical engineering challenges. Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, and analyze metrics to drive continuous operational excellence across our systems. Work closely with cross-functional teams of product managers, UX experts, and performance engineers to build trusted features our customers will love. Master our development process, culture, and codebase, then continuously refine it while staying ahead of an AI landscape that evolves monthly. You're Our Person If... Strong background in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline. You possess a strong background in object-oriented programming with hands-on fluency in Python and SQL. You have proven experience experimenting with, building on, or fine-tuning large language models and navigating AI/ML libraries. You maintain a solid grasp of core data fundamentals, including pipeline development, data lineage, and data provenance.
