As a Controls Mechanical Designer at Trane Technologies, you will be a key member of the Trane Commercial Controls Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and designing the components, assemblies and enclosures for Trane Control products, including managing the documentation. You will contribute to developing concepts for new & improved commercial HVAC Control products and solve complex technical problems leading to production of sustainable high quality products. This role will require an individual to be well-versed in computer-aided design (CAD), product lifecycle management (PLM) and have the ability to work in cross-functional global teams.
What you will do
Create electronic components, parts, assemblies, and enclosures utilizing Creo. Produce and develop designs and documentation utilizing CAD and PLM tools. Create necessary supporting documentation utilizing a multitude of systems and applications. Support PLM change control processes. Collaborate with electrical engineers, pcb designers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design intent is captured. Translate verbal and/or written instructions into CAD drawings/models of HVAC control products. In-depth knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes. Ability to make conceptual sketches, create 2D and 3D engineering drawings, assemblies utilizing a Creo CAD modeling software and common engineering computations. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in support of multiple concurrent projects. Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
What you will bring
Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Drafting, or related engineering field or 4+ years of experience using a computer aided graphic design solution in lieu of degree. Experience in Creo (preferred), SolidWorks, Inventor, or ProEngineer. Experience with PLM systems (Windchill and/or TeamCenter a plus). Experience with Schematic capture systems a plus (ex: Altium). Experience with Adobe Illustrator.
