The Airborne Radar Electronics Design Department at Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support VHDL-based firmware development and hardware integration activities for advanced airborne radar systems. Depending on assignments, this role may involve supporting FPGA development, digital design verification, radar hardware integration, and system-level troubleshooting. The intern will work closely with experienced radar electronics engineers on real hardware used in airborne radar platforms.
What You Will Do
Assist engineers with design, testing, and validation activities Support lab work, including measurements, test setups, and documentation Contribute to electrical engineering project tasks as assigned Participate in team meetings, reviews, and technical discussions Maintain accurate records and follow established engineering procedures What You Will Learn: You will have experience working in a fast moving, high-octane environment Design and integration experience of phased array antennas Antenna measurement techniques in Nearfield or Farfield Ranges Qualifications You Must Have: Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies Qualifications We Prefer: RF and microwave courses and lab experience are preferred Hands‑on experience working on electrical engineering projects Experience with software tools including C, C++, and MATLAB Experience with software tools such as HFSS or CST (or comparable tools); experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects What We Offer: Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
