Job Description
Position Title: HGV Driver Reporting To: Dispatch Co-ordinator Location: Ballymoney Hours of work : 39 Hours, Mon - Thurs Reporting to the Dispatch Co-ordinator at the Ballymoney site, the successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle driving, both lorries and forklift trucks, delivering goods to Terex facilities & customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Loading and Unloading of vehicles so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print. Provide excellent customer service. Handle customer issues on delivery effectively Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner. Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law. Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits. Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage. Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab. Operation of all forklift trucks and delivery of materials safely throughout the site. To operate the crane (if applicable) safely and in accordance with the correct procedures Comply with fuel directives. Ensure any accidents or damage to Company or third party property is actioned in accordance with company procedures. Complete vehicle daily inspection sheet Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Departments attention if necessary. Attend essential training in order to carry out the driver role. To provide support in the Yard as and when required and any other reasonable duty. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include Health and Safety Policy. Qualifications & Experience: Essential HGV Class 1 Driving License. Mathematics & English GCSE - Grade C or above or relevant qualification. Must possess an up to date Driver qualification Card (CPC Card). Have at least 2 years driving experience. Have experience transporting heavy plant and machinery and multi-drop deliveries. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, be able to use own initiative and work as part of a team. They will be able to take on new challenges and will be keen to learn new skills and responsibilities in all aspects of the business. Candidates should be aware that this role will entail heavy Manual Labour. Must be reliable and have a good timekeeping and attendance record. Must be flexible and available to work overtime as and when required, this may include alternative shift work. Desirable CSR Card or other relevant health & safety qualification. Have at least 2 years fork lift truck driving experience.
